There were three Video Reviews during Week 29.
MIN vs SEA: Penalty kick
What happened: After review, Seattle #28 [Yeimar] fouled Minnesota #9 [Kelvin Yeboah] inside the penalty area.
The final decision was penalty [to Minnesota United].
Length of Review: 1:51
PRO’s opinion: Yeimar (SEA) was late and kicked the underside of Yeboah’s (MIN) leg without playing the ball, which caused him to go to ground. This was a foul and a penalty kick.
NSH vs ATX: Penalty kick
What happened: After review, Austin #4 [Brendan Hines-Ike] fouled Nashville #14 [Jacob Shaffelburg] inside the penalty area.
The final decision was penalty [to Nashville] and yellow card to Austin #4 for stopping a promising attack.
Length of Review: 4:06
PRO’s opinion: Shaffelburg (NSH) had control of the ball inside the penalty area when he was challenged by Hines-Ike (ATX), who lunged for the ball but did not make any contact. He slid past the ball and into Shaffelburg’s foot, tripping him.
The final decision was red card for serious foul play.
Length of review: 2:16
PRO’s opinion: Agada (SKC) lunged for the ball with his studs exposed. His foot came off the top of the ball and continued into Torres’ (ORL) leg. The contact was with a straight leg and studs. The referee determined that the challenge was reckless in nature and issued a yellow card for the tackle, which, as he had previously been issued a yellow card in the match, led to a subsequent red card.
