Week 18 overview
There were five Video Reviews during Week 18.

SD vs UTA: No goal (offside)

Outcome: After review, Utah #5 [Cece Delzer] was in an offside position and interfered with an opponent when she impacted the ability of San Diego #12 [Sandra Paños] to play the ball prior to Utah #10 [Narumi Miura] scoring a goal.

The final decision was offside and an indirect free kick [to San Diego Wave].

Length of Review: 1:49

PRO’s opinion: Delzer (UTA) was in an offside position and, due to her clear attempt to play the ball with her left leg while in close proximity to Paños (SD), impacted the goalkeeper’s ability to play the ball. The referee was correct to disallow the goal after video review.

KC vs SEA: Penalty kick

Outcome: After review, Seattle #19 [Mia Fishel] committed a punishable handball offense inside the penalty area.

The final decision was a penalty kick [to Kansas City Current].

Length of Review: 1:48

PRO’s opinion: Following a shot from Haley Hopkins (KC), the ball deflected off Fishel’s (SEA) right arm, which was away from her body, and creating a barrier that blocked the shot on goal. The referee was correct to award a penalty kick for a handball offense after video review.

NC vs BOS: Goal

Outcome: After review, Boston #14 [Aïssata Traoré] did not foul North Carolina #26 [Vilde Bøe Risa] in the buildup to scoring a goal.

The final decision was a goal [to Boston Legacy].

Length of Review: 5:28

PRO’s opinion: As Traoré (BOS) and Bøe Risa (NC) contested a loose ball following the save from Kailen Sheridan (NC), the contact between them was fair and did not rise to the level of a foul. The referee was correct to award the goal after video review.

NC vs BOS: Penalty kick

Outcome: After review, Boston #53 [Bianca St-Georges] fouled North Carolina #25 [Maycee Bell] inside the penalty area.
The final decision was a penalty kick [to North Carolina Courage].

Length of Review: 2:46

PRO’s opinion: St-Georges (BOS) tripped Bell (NC) as the attacker attempted to dribble to her right inside the penalty area. The referee was correct to award a penalty kick after video review.

LA vs GFC: Penalty kick

Outcome: After review, Los Angeles #11 [Sarah Gordon] committed a punishable handball offense inside the penalty area.
The final decision was a penalty kick [to Gotham FC].

Length of Review: 2:53

PRO’s opinion: Gordon’s (LA) arm was in a justifiable position for her action, and this should not have been recommended for review.
