There was one Video Review during Week 20.

CLB vs MTL: Review to award goal to Columbus Crew after initially having been disallowed for offside

Starting Point – On-field Decision: Offside – no goal.

What Happened: With the score at 1-1 very early in the second half, a goal was scored by David Accam (CLB), however, it was disallowed due to an offside decision. Because the flag and whistle had been delayed until the ball was in the goal a window had been created to enable the VAR to check whether the offside decision to cancel the goal was a clear and obvious error.

PRO’s Decision: Zakaria Diallo (MTL) had clearly played Accam onside at the moment the ball was played to Accam by Pedro Santos (CLB). This was a very good use of the Video Review system and very efficiently done be the VAR and AVAR.
