Crews named for MLS Homegrown and MLS All-Star games
Drew Fischer has been assigned as the center referee for the MLS All-Star game in Orlando on Wednesday. He has taken charge of 114 regular season games in the MLS since his debut in 2012 and was the All-Star fourth official back in 2013, when AS Roma won 3-1 in Kansas City.
The FIFA official – who recently operated as a VAR at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France – will be assisted at Exploria Stadium by Brian Dunn and Logan Brown for the annual showpiece against 10-time La Liga champions Atlético Madrid.
Dunn (127 regular season games) has been operating in MLS since 2012 while Brown made his debut in MLS three years later, and has been on the field for 77 regular season games.
This will be Dunn’s second All-Star assignment having been AR in 2015 for Tottenham Hotspur’s visit to Colorado. Tim Ford will be the fourth official, with Andrew Bigelow serving as the reserve assistant referee.
In the Video Operations Room, Edvin Jurisevic (VAR) and Robert Schaap (AVAR) complete the PRO crew for this game.
Diego Simeone’s side were runners-up to Barcelona in La Liga last season and are the current UEFA Super Cup holders, having beaten Real Madrid 4-2 after extra-time in August last year. Atléti arrives in Orlando on the back of a 7-3 preseason victory over the same opponents on Friday night.
On Tuesday, Michael Radchuk will be the referee for the game between the MLS Homegrown team and Chivas Guadalajara U-20 at Disney ESPN Wide World of Sports. He will be assisted by AR’s Jeffrey Swartzel and Kevin Lock, and fourth official Elvis Osmanovic.
