Rubiel Vazquez to take charge of NASL Championship Game

Rubiel Vazquez has been assigned the role of center referee for the 2017 NASL Championship game between San Francisco Deltas and New York Cosmos.

The official, who made his MLS breakthrough last season, will be joined by assistant referees Jeffrey Greeson and Nick Uranga, who have more than 40 MLS assignments between them this season.

Ricardo Salazar has been assigned fourth official duties, with Cameron Blanchard the reserve.

New York Cosmos came into The Championship as the number four seed and are bidding to retain the title after winning a PK shootout against top seed Miami FC at the semifinal stage.

San Francisco, number two seeds, are on home soil after recording a narrow 1-0 triumph over North Carolina in the previous stage.
