What happened: Gotham #9 [Esther González] committed an attacker handball offense in the process of scoring a goal.

The final decision was that the goal [for NJ/NY Gotham FC] was disallowed. Play restarted with a direct free kick [to Utah Royals].

PRO’s opinion: After González’s (GFC) initial shot was saved by goalkeeper Mandy Haught (UTA), the ball was cleared by Kate Del Fava (UTA). The ball then struck González’s left arm before she scored a goal. This made it a handball offense. The referee was correct to disallow the goal for attacker handball.
