Bryan Warman named winner of the 2023 Ernie Branco Liaison Award

The Referee Liaison Officer at FC Cincinnati, Bryan Warman, has been recognized with the Ernie Branco Liaison Award for 2023.

Voted for by the officials, the accolade is awarded every season to the referee liaison working in MLS who has demonstrated an outstanding attitude and acted professionally in support of the game crews.

Warman becomes the eighth different person to receive the honor since it was introduced in 2016.

Alan Kelly, PRO’s Director of Senior Match Officials, said: “Like a good refereeing performance, the work of the referee liaison can often go unnoticed, but it certainly plays its part in enabling our officials to do their jobs effectively.

“We have a dedicated group of referee liaisons working extremely diligently across the league’s stadiums to support our officials and make sure everything is in place on matchday. There is always fierce competition for this award, so our congratulations go to Bryan, who came out on top in 2023.”

Warman said, “It’s wonderful to know that the officials at PRO have recognized the passion, dedication, and work ethic that I try to exhibit every single day.

“I want to thank the people I work with and the other liaisons with whom I communicate all year around. We help each other without any hesitation to create a professional environment.
