Three PRO officials are heading to FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup
Chantal Boudreau, Brooke Mayo, and Tori Penso have been selected to officiate in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica in August.
After being inducted onto the FIFA international panel last year, center referee Penso has already taken charge of games in the 2021 She Believes Cup and the Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship in 2022.
She was joined in the latter by both Boudreau and Mayo. Boudreau is an assistant referee from Canada who officiated at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics last year and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Mayo ran the line during the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifiers as well as the She Believes Cup and Central American and Caribbean Games Gold Medal Match in 2018.
All three officials made their MLS debuts in 2020 and have a combined total of 15 years on the FIFA panel.
Howard Webb, PRO General Manager, said: “This is fantastic news for Brooke, Chantal, and Tori, who continue to be such wonderful ambassadors for PRO, their National Federations, and Concacaf.
“After last week’s announcement that we will have six officials going to the men’s World Cup in Qatar, it is great to see more of our officials receiving international recognition of this magnitude. We wish them every success in Costa Rica.”
