The Professional Referee Organization (PRO) acknowledges that the story posted on our website on May 1 regarding the first all-female crew to officiate in the USL Championship was misleading. We would like to sincerely apologize for failing to acknowledge Ceciah Valero, Melissa Gonzalez, Samantha Martinez, and Pamela Gonzalez with the accomplishment of becoming the first all-female crew to officiate a USL D2 match, which they did in June 2018.
 
We mistakenly represented the crew of Tori Penso, Brooke Mayo, Meghan Mullen, and Alyssa Nichols as being the first all-female crew to officiate in a USL D2 game.
 
PRO celebrates the accomplishments of all officials, and it was never our intention to misrepresent the achievements of either crew.
 
We support opportunities for all officials and continuously work towards a day when such assignments become the norm.
