CJ Morgante named AR for CONCACAF Gold Cup Final
PRO official CJ Morgante has been selected as assistant referee for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final.
The game will be played on Sunday, July 26 in Philadelphia and be contested by Mexico and Jamaica.
Morgante, a FIFA official since 2007, will be joined on the officiating crew at Lincoln Field by center referee Joel Aguilar, fellow AR Juan Zumba and fourth official John Pitti.
PRO General Manager Peter Walton said: “This assignment is truly a great honor for CJ and one that makes all at PRO very proud. It is testimony to his hard work, ability and sacrifices over many years.”
Forty-one-year-old Morgante has run the line on five occasions in MLS this season, having made his debut in the league in 2007, and he has been on AR duty four times so far in the Gold Cup, being appointed to three group games prior to the quarterfinal between Mexico and Costa Rica.
