PRO announces officiating crew for MLS season opener
PRO’s Jair Marrufo has been chosen as the man in the middle for the opening game of the MLS season between LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire on Friday, March 6.
The referee will be assisted at StubHub Center by Frank Anderson and Corey Rockwell, with Alejandro Mariscal the fourth official for the game that kicks off at 10pm ET.
FIFA referee Marrufo took charge of 16 MLS regular season games in 2014 but his most recent assignment came during the Playoffs when he blew the whistle at the Western Conference Championship second leg Seattle Sounders versus LA Galaxy showdown.
Rockwell was on the touchline as AR at CenturyLink Field and he’ll again be alongside Marrufo in the PRO crew, for the season-opener in Carson, California.
Frank Anderson has experience of big games in MLS having ran the line at last year’s Eastern Conference Championship second leg between New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls.
Mariscal, meanwhile, was one of the most-used fourth officials on the PRO roster in 2014 with 20 games under his belt.
