Amanda Ross and Christina Unkel assigned to semifinals at Central American and Caribbean Games
Amanda Ross and Christina Unkel have both been given semifinal assignments at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico.
The two FIFA officials worked three games each in the group stages of the competition and, following strong performances, have advanced to the semifinals, which take place on November 25.
After two head referee assignments in the groups, and one fourth, Unkel has been assigned as fourth official to Colombia versus Venezuela.
Assistant referee Ross will run the line in Costa Rica’s clash against hosts Mexico, for Canada’s Michelle Pye who has the whistle.
Sandra Serafini, PRO Women’s Referee Coach and NWSL and USWNT Assignor, told proreferees.com: “We’re very pleased for both Christina and Amanda that they have been retained for the knockout rounds of the CAC tournament.
“It’s rewarding for all of us to see their hard work throughout the year pay off with consistent performances that have been recognized with semifinal assignments.
“It tells us that PRO is on the right track with our training and coaching methods for our officials working at the professional and international levels, and we have every confidence in them for another good showing.”
