CHI vs WAS: No penalty

Outcome: After review, Washington #14 [Gabrielle Carle] did not foul Chicago #20 [Bea Franklin] inside the penalty area.

The final decision was no penalty and play restarted with a goal kick [to Washington Spirit].

Length of Review: 3:28

PRO’s opinion: This was a collision between Carle (WAS) and Franklin (CHI), just behind Tara McKeown (WAS), rather than a charging offense by the defender. Franklin ended up on the ground with McKeown because of the coming together with Carle, but this wasn’t a foul, and the referee correctly maintained his original decision after video review. This review was unnecessary because it was not a clear and obvious error.
