PRO to wear black armbands to honor Julio Davila this weekend

PRO officials will be wearing black armbands in MLS Matchday 10 in memory of a special member of our extended family, Julio Davila, who passed away last week.

Julio was the referee liaison at LA Galaxy from 1996 through to last year’s MLS Cup.

Alan Kelly, PRO’s Director of Senior Match Officials, said: “Julio was a beacon of positivity and treated his position as referee liaison officer with the professionalism that it deserved. He loved the role and what it contributed to officials on game day.

“He was a beloved character among the MLS officiating group for almost thirty years. Going to LA Galaxy’s stadium won’t feel the same without him being there.”
