PRO to wear black armbands to honor Merritt Guthrie this weekend

With great sadness, PRO was informed that referee assessor Merritt Guthrie passed away on September 6, at the age of 67.

The former referee and national referee coach joined PRO’s Assessor Panel in 2019, and as a mark of respect, PRO officials will be wearing black armbands in all games across MLS, NWSL and USL this weekend.

Our thoughts are with Merritt’s family at this extremely difficult time.
