The two US officials at this year's Algarve Cup have been selected to officiate a pivotal Group C match between Portugal and Mexico.
Marlene Duffy and Margaret Domka will take charge of the game at the Algarve Stadium on March 11th.
The tie between the competition hosts and Mexico holds significance in the competition with all four teams in Group C – Portugal, Mexico, Wales and Hungary - tied on three points after two rounds of matches.
On the appointment, Duffy told proreferees.com: “Although it may not be immediately apparent, this is quite a high-profile game.
“Portugal have been involved in a number of unusual and difficult situations in their past two matches and it was made clear in debriefing that this tie was going to be a challenge for the crew chosen to officiate.
“We're really honored to have been chosen to referee this match.”
