The 2015 NASL Championship Final between the New York Cosmos and Ottawa Fury will be refereed by PRO’s Alan Kelly.
The center official will be assisted by Oscar Mitchell-Carvalho (AR1) and Kyle Atkins (AR2), while Mark Kadlecik will be on fourth official duties at Shuart Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y on Sunday November, 15.
The fifth official, meanwhile, is Eric Weisbrod.
The Final is being contested by the top two teams in the NASL this season. The Cosmos won the Spring Season title and finished first in the Combined Standings, while the Fury finished first place in the Fall Season.
It is the first time since 1984 that the NASL Championship is being contested between a team from the United States and one from Canada.
Referee Kelly told proreferees.com: “The assignment was unexpected but, having had time to take it in, I feel very proud.
“The NASL has a lot of history and I am very honored with being given the task of refereeing its Championship game.
“I’m really looking forward to it and I expect it to be a really good game. You have the top two seeds involved so it really is all to play for.”
Kelly has been assigned to the game after being named MLS Referee of the Year for 2015, and he has enjoyed a fine season in the middle, with his last outing coming at Stade Saputo for Montreal Impact versus Toronto FC.
